California is stuck in Summer. Temperatures in the 90’s and warm elsewhere, the Sacramento valley is seeing unusually warm weather for this time of year. We’re waiting for Fall. Which means my eagerness for Fall hiking is reaching pitch, and if it won’t come I’ll go to it.
Hidden Falls Regional Park, in Auburn, CA, is what I like to call a land of autumn. Early into the season this place already feels a harvest. Golden fields of grass are everywhere and trees generally take on a rusty hue without so much as a heavy drop in temperature.
Of course, the real beauty of this place opens up during deep Fall, when nature allows herself to explode with color. Don’t worry, I’ll be back. I am every year.
